INTERNATIONAL ENGAGEMENT • 18–22 MAY 2026
RCE Minna took part in the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), convened by UN-Habitat in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 18 to 22 May 2026. The World Urban Forum is the world’s leading conference on sustainable urbanisation, bringing together governments, cities, academia, civil society and development partners.
At the Forum, the Minna Cemetery Regeneration Project was recognised among the shortlisted practices of the first cycle of the International Outstanding Practices on Urban Regeneration (IOPUR), a joint initiative of UN-Habitat and Shanghai University. The Certificate of Recognition, signed by Pietro Elisei, Convenor of the IOPUR International Expert Panel, was received in Baku and later presented to the Niger State Government at World Habitat Day 2026.

Participation at WUF13 gave RCE Minna a global platform to share how Education for Sustainable Development, community engagement and sound planning can transform vulnerable urban spaces in Niger State.
